OLPA Scholarships 2017-2018

The Omaha Legal Professionals Association is a Chapter of the statewide Nebraska Legal Professionals Association.  Its members share a common interest in promoting continuing professionalism in the legal field.  The 2017 OLPA scholarship(s) will be awarded at the Omaha Legal Professional Association’s Annual Banquet on April 19, 2017. 

Deadline:  Postmarked on or before March 17, 2017


Each scholarship is awarded on the basis of:

·         Scholastic achievement (a grade point average of 2.5 or above)

·         Involvement in school and/or community

·         The intention to pursue a career in the legal field

·         Applicant’s Personal Statement stating why he/she wishes to pursue an education in a legal field.

High School Level - $500

The Omaha Legal Professionals Association offers a $500.00 Scholarship to the First-Place winner selected from qualified high school applicants who are pursuing studies of a legal nature leading to a career in a law-related field.  

All applicants must be enrolled full-time in paralegal, legal secretarial, criminal justice or any law-related undergraduate program.  A check for $250.00 will be issued to the institution each semester after verifying the student is full-time and taking the required classes.  If the First-Place winner, for any reason, withdraws from school or does not meet the class criteria mentioned above, OLPA will forward the First-Place scholarship award to the Second-Place winner.   

2017-2018 OLPA $500 Scholarship - High School Level

College Level - $1,000

The Omaha Legal Professionals Association offers a $1,000.00 Scholarship to the First-Place winner selected from qualified college-level applicants who are pursuing studies of a legal nature leading to a career in a law-related field.  

All applicants must be enrolled full-time in paralegal, legal secretarial, criminal justice or any law-related undergraduate program.  A check for $500.00 will be issued to the institution each semester after verifying the student is full-time and taking the required classes.  If the First-Place winner, for any reason, withdraws from school or does not meet the class criteria mentioned above, OLPA will forward the First-Place scholarship award to the Second-Place winner.
